Since her parents' bitter divorce, McLean and her dad, a restaurant consultant, have been on the move-four towns in two years. Estranged from her mother and her mother's new family, McLean has followed her dad in leaving the unhappy past behind. And each new place gives her a chance to try out a new persona: from cheerleader to drama diva. But now, for the first time, McLean discovers a desire to stay in one place and just be herself, whoever that is. Perhaps Dave, the guy next door, can help her find out.

It is always a joy to sit down with a Sarah Dessen book. The heartwarming feeling was there as always. This was not my favourite Sarah Dessen novel, nut it still had the charm.

Let's talk about the bad stuff first, to get it over and done with. Thankfully there's not a lot of these. In this book, the characters didn't feel as deep as usually in other Dessen novels. Also, at the beginning of the book, the pacing was a little too slow for me. That is all for the bad stuff.

Now for the good stuff. The plot was definitely planned out very well, and it felt the same yet different from the other Sarah Dessen books. It's kind of hard to explain. The writing as captivating and enthralling as always.
The cover was also a beauty.

Overall, this novel was pretty good. It was the best book I've ever read, but I stilll recomend it. Even though, this book had a few drawbacks, Sarah Dessen is still one of my favourite authors.

Rating - B+ (I changed my rating scale)

Happy Reading!
